- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups diced apples
- 4 cups oil for frying
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs, then add to the dry ingredients.
- Fold in the diced apples until well mixed.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth, then drizzle over the warm fritters.
Notes
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying.
