4 pieces fresh cod fillets
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup cold beer
4 large russet potatoes
Salt to taste

Instructions
Peel and cut potatoes into chips. Rinse them in cold water and dry thoroughly.
Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and beer until smooth.
Dip each cod fillet into the batter and then carefully place into the hot oil.
Fry fish for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown, then remove and drain on paper towels.
Fry the potatoes in the same oil until golden and crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
Serve hot with salt.
