- 3 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 French rolls
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
