  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt.
  3. Add pumpkin puree, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead until a soft dough forms.
  5. Let the dough rise for an hour, covered, until it doubles in size.
  6. Roll out the dough and cut into squares. Place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before drizzling with icing.
