- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar, for dusting
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
- Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in egg yolks until the dough comes together.
- Press the dough into mini tart pans and bake for 10-12 minutes until firm.
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just boiling, then remove from heat.
- Add the chopped chocolate and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
- Pour the chocolate filling into the tart shells and chill until set, about 2 hours.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate.
