Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in egg yolks until the dough comes together.
  5. Press the dough into mini tart pans and bake for 10-12 minutes until firm.
  6. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just boiling, then remove from heat.
  7. Add the chopped chocolate and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  8. Pour the chocolate filling into the tart shells and chill until set, about 2 hours.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate.
  • You can add berries on top for a fresh twist.
