Strawberry Chocolate Cake

This Strawberry Chocolate Cake is a delightful combination of rich chocolate and fresh strawberries, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
  5. Stir in the boiling water (batter will be thin).
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely.
  9. Once cool, layer the cakes with strawberries in between and frost with chocolate frosting.

Notes

  • For a creamier frosting, add cream cheese to the chocolate frosting.
  • Fresh strawberries make all the difference in flavor.
