  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh strawberries, pureed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball. Let cool for a few minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Using a piping bag, pipe the dough into crullers in a circular shape in the hot oil.
  6. Fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, strawberry puree, and vanilla in a bowl.
  8. Dip the cooled crullers in the glaze and let set.
