  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, milk, and sugar until combined.
  2. Add the eggs and softened butter and mix until smooth.
  3. Gradually add flour, salt, and cinnamon until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisins.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and slice into rolls.
  8. Place rolls in a greased pan and let rise again.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For best results, use chilled butter so it doesn’t melt into the dough.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the filling.
