- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- Preheat the grill or stovetop pan over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
- Add in breadcrumbs, chopped onion, garlic, cumin, salt, pepper, olive oil, soy sauce, and ketchup; stir until well combined.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Cook on the grill or in the pan for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
